If you live in NC, don’t forget to practice your freedom to self govern. Go vote! (Taken with instagram)
I thought this was a cool commercial…it really reaches out and grabs you on a deeper level than other spots for consumer products. Pretty much anyone can relate.
In case you’ve been confused by the rhetoric surrounding the May 8 NC ballot…
According to the General Assembly of North Carolina Session 2011, Session Law 2011-409, when you go to the polls in NC on May 8, you will see:
”[ ] FOR [ ] AGAINST
Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State.”
No matter which way you decide vote, I just wanted to make sure you get the chance to exercise your democratic right to weigh in on this issue with an educated opinion. Here are some more resources to help sift through the smoke and mirrors being thrown up by activists on both sides of the debate.
Read NC Senate Bill 514/Session Law 2011-409
Proposed NC Constitution Article XIV: Section 6
“Sec. 6. Marriage.
Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts.”
